EJI Condemns Ahmadinejad's Comments

Once Again Ahmadinejad Has Misspoken

Virginia, USA (December 20, 2005), United Republicans of Iran (URI)[1] condemns the recent racist and anti-Semitic remarks by Iran’s President Ahmadinejad, denying the events of holocaust by the Nazi regime of Germany and calling for the destruction of the state of Israel or their transfer to Europe. We believe such calls by whomever, is an invitation to repetition of mass killings on the basis inhumane dictatorship.

The Government of Iran’s “sympathetic” feelings for the Palestinian people is a ploy to conceal their inability to follow through with their election promises. In its attempt to crush the remaining rights of the Iranian people, President Ahmadinejad has tried to further isolate Iran from the world community. We fully support the Israeli-Palestinian peace process and believe the creation of a Palestinian state is an effective measure toward weakening the fundamentalist movement in the region.

The racist propaganda by the President of the Islamic Republic does not limit itself to the people of Jewish faith but people of other faiths such as Baha’is, Christians and others. Ahmadinejad and his supporters do not represent the majority of people of Iran and have no right to endanger human civilization in the name of the Iranian people.
