An Open Letter-Freedom for the striking workers in Iran
January 30, 2006An open Letter to:
All International Labor organisations
All Human Rights organizations
Demand the Release of Striking Workers in Iran
I am writing to inform you that on the morning of Saturday, January 28, 2006 military and security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran attacked the centers of the striking Bus workers in Tehran, Iran arresting hundreds of workers, their families and student supporters.
The workers were on strike demanding for increase in wages and a better working condition.
The brutal attack on the striking workers clearly show the true nature of the Government of President Ahmadinejad, who came to power promising justice for the impoverished and to fight corruption.
The United Republicans of Iran fully supports the rights of the workers to a peaceful strike and demands for their immediate release.
We also ask all international labor organizations to press the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the release of their colleagues in Iran specially the leader of the Union of Workers of Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company, Mr. Mansour Osanlu.
